Listening to Marcella Bella’s “Nell’Aria” (In the Air), immortal masterpiece of the Italian disco-music, it seems that the virus of spring 2020 took inspiration from this cult piece interpreted with sensuality by this versatile artist who often introduces in her songs innovative and provocateurs elements. The covid-19 is in the air we breathe and the song reads: “Air, I still breathe you know. In the air, I drive you away, but you are there. So much desire inside me. A fever that assails me, I feel so bad, Air, in the air …! “. On the A side of this Popart reissue we find the “Classic Version” of 1985 – made by the Fonoprint recording studios in Bologna – and “Aria Latina”, a refined video made in 2017 with the delicious arrangement, while on the flip is the 5-minute re-edit by Francesco Cicchini DJ.
