Description
The Pretty Things were one of the longest-lived English rock bands.
In the mid-1960s, with their hard music and sinister image, they were considered one of the most striking bands of their time. The Pretty Things also made rock history in 1968 – as the creators of what is believed to be the first rock opera, S. F. Sorrow.
The Pretty Things created some of the most exciting and innovative records of the late sixties and early seventies.
The band, which won the Hero Award at the 2009 Mojo Honours, has been mentioned over the years by a range of artists from The Clash, David Bowie and Aerosmith to The Libertines and Kasabian.
